If you work in an industrial plant that utilizes gas turbine compressors, you likely know that these massive and complex machines have to be cleaned no matter what they are being used for. There are several reasons why you should be cleaning gas turbine compressors often, but the following list reveals some of the most important reasons.
Gas Engines of Any Kind Combust and Create Dirty Particles
Gas engines are designed to combust. This means that the fuel is injected into a part of the engine and ignited. Any ignited fuel burns, and the burned fuel produces particulates that dirty up the internal spaces of an engine. Over time, these particulates accumulate, creating a thick, sooty, dangerous layer that can actually cause engine fires and explosions. It is important, then, that any engine that combusts and burns fuel, from a car engine to a gas turbine compression engine, be sufficiently and regularly cleaned.
Explosions and Engine Fires in These Machines Are Extremely Dangerous
A gas turbine compressor is a very large machine. It takes up a big space in your plant. You probably have more than one sitting in close proximity to each other. If even one of these machines erupts into fire or explodes, everything else may catch fire and blow up in that part of the plant as a result. All of that risk, all of that damage, and all of that loss can be removed just by using a gas turbine cleaner once a month to keep these machines clean and safer to use.
A Clean Gas Turbine Compressor Is a Very Efficient Machine
This applies to any machine really, but when you rely heavily on these machines to accomplish specific tasks in the plant, you want peak performance from them. You want them to be efficient for as long as they can be so that you will not have to replace them and so that your plant will continue to operate at the level that you want. If you are willing to add engine cleaners to either a diesel or a standard gas engine in your vehicles, why would you not make sure that the machinery in your plant is equally as clean and equally able to perform just as well? It only takes a few minutes to add a gas turbine cleaner to the turbine compressors and let the cleaners run their course. Then it is business as usual the rest of the shift and until the next cleaning.
