I started focusing on learning, and it was cool to see just how many different options there were out there. Rental companies rent all kinds of things, so if you are looking for something special for an event or a production you are hosting; a rental company is an excellent place to start. There are a lot of different resources you might need, but check with the rental company for items listed here.
Lighting Systems
There are a lot of different types of lighting that may work for your needs and are available for rent. Spotlights, stage lighting, and portable rack lighting are all useful for events.
The rental company may have a lighting solution to show you that will work better than your original plan, so ask them for a recommendation if you are unsure about the lights you need.
If the entertainment lighting rental company does not have the lights you need on hand, they may be able to get some from another location or may be willing to order something to fit your needs if they have a use for it later.
Sound Systems
For many different events, you may need a sound system to play music, talk to people in the audience, or for actors that are in your production and need amplification so people can hear them. The sound system does not have to be super complicated, but it does need to work efficiently and be simple enough to work without needing a sound engineer to operate it. You can rent the speakers, mics, and mixer board from most rental companies.
Smoke or Fog Systems
Special effects are fun and can add a lot to a show, a concert, or a haunted house. Smoke machines that produce non-toxic smoke or fog that covers the stage or fills a room are readily available from party rental, and when combined with the lights you rented, the effects they can produce are almost limitless. If you want to take your production up a notch, a little well-placed fog may be just what you need.
Tables, Chairs, or Furnishings
For large events, you may need a few other things that you had not considered. Chairs and tables are often on the list for a party or an event, so if you do not have access to tables, chairs, or both, you may want to rent them from the rental company. Most companies will deliver them for you so you don't have to try and find a truck to haul them. The company will also pick them up when you are done with them if you need them to.
